Wix to Shopify, without the cleanup headache
Wix exports your products, but not in a shape Shopify accepts. We fix the options, rebuild the image links, move your blog and redirect every Wix URL.
Why stores leave Wix for Shopify
Wix is a good website builder and its store works well for a small catalogue. Stores usually move when they grow: more products, more variants, more sales channels, more apps, or a need for features like multi location inventory and B2B that Shopify handles natively.
What makes a Wix migration tricky
- Product options. Wix lets a product have more option types than Shopify's limit of three. Products with four or more options have to be restructured, usually by splitting them into separate products or turning one option into a customization field.
- Image references. Depending on how you export, Wix may give you image file identifiers rather than full public URLs. They need to be converted to working links before Shopify can fetch them.
- Product URLs. Wix product pages typically live under /product-page/ while Shopify uses /products/. Every old URL needs a 301 redirect or you lose the traffic and links pointing at it.
- Blog. Wix blog posts do not come across with a product export. They need to be moved separately, with their images and URLs from /post/ to Shopify's blog structure.
- Apps and widgets. Bookings, forms, members areas and other Wix apps do not have a direct export. Each needs a Shopify app or a custom replacement.
Our Wix to Shopify process
- Export products, contacts and orders from your Wix dashboard
- Audit options, variants and images, and list what needs restructuring
- Rebuild variants within Shopify's three option structure, with you approving any product that must change
- Convert image references and attach images to the right variants
- Move blog posts and static pages with clean formatting
- Create 301 redirects for products, categories, posts and pages
- Connect your domain, check Search Console and submit the new sitemap
Keeping your Google traffic
Wix sites often rank well for local searches and brand names. Those rankings are tied to your URLs. Our redirect map covers every indexed URL, not just products, and we check Search Console in the weeks after launch. The full list is in our Shopify migration SEO checklist.
Should you move at all?
If you sell fewer than a few dozen products and your store does everything you need, staying on Wix is fine. Moving makes sense when you are fighting the platform: workarounds for variants, apps that do not exist, or reports you cannot get. We will tell you if we think the move is not worth it.
Questions, answered
Can I keep my domain?
Yes. Your domain points to Shopify once the new store is ready. If it was bought through Wix, it can be transferred or pointed with DNS records.
Do my Wix members or customers move?
Contact details and order history can move. Passwords cannot, so customers activate a new account on Shopify.
What about my Wix bookings?
Shopify does not include bookings. We can set up a booking app or build a custom booking flow if your needs are specific.
