The business
KLM Studio started in Quebec around 2019, shooting events, corporate work and vehicles for dealerships. As the owner moved abroad, the studio kept its clients by passing shoots to trusted photographers. It became a referral network: businesses request a shoot, a partner photographer does it and invoices the client, and KLM Studio earns a commission.
The problem
- Every request meant writing a quote by hand
- Choosing a photographer meant checking availability by message
- Partner agreements were documents sent back and forth
- Conversations with clients and photographers were scattered
- The old site, on a portfolio platform, was not built to rank or to recruit photographers
What we built
- New website. Fast site on Netlify focused on Quebec cities and the services businesses search for, plus a section to recruit photographers
- Photographer portal. Partners sign up through the site or the chat bubble, and sign the partner agreement online
- Automatic quotes. Each photographer has a rate, and quotes are calculated from it automatically
- Automatic assignment. Requests are matched to a photographer without manual sorting
- Conversation history. Client and photographer messages stay with the job and are kept for the protection period
- Post production option. Partners can choose to edit themselves or hand editing to the studio
